HP could launch an Ultrabook sometime soon

HP could launch one or two 'Ultrabooks' sometime soon. Digitimes report that the HP Ultrabooks will hit the market before Asus starts shipping its UX21 Ultrabook.

The Ultrabook is some sort of an extremely thin and light laptop with a budget-friendly price tag. The concept was first introduced by Intel a few weeks ago. Back then it was heard that Asus would be first to launch an Ultrabook.

The HP Ultrabooks will feature Intel's Core i7 processors for thin laptops. Digitimes report that Taiwanese OEM Foxconn has already started building these notebooks for HP.

The Asus UX21, by the way, will be available in two models - one with an 11.6 inch display and another with a 13 inch display. The smaller model will measure just 0.12 inches at its thinnest part. It will be available with a choice of Intel Core i5 or i7 processors and SSDs. There is still no official launch date for the notebooks, but word is that it will start shipping in September. If that is indeed so, then the HP Ultrabooks could hit the streets in July or August.
